22-Year-Old Shot and Killed Outside Home in Fairland

FAIRLAND, MD – Montgomery County Department of Police’s Major Crimes Division is closely examining a shooting incident that transpired on Monday.

Responding to a reported burglary on Fairdale Rd. around 10:57 p.m., officers found 22-year-old Rakiy Deinol Gardner outside a residence with a gunshot wound, who couldn’t be revived.

Another shooting victim was discovered nearby, with non-life-threatening injuries. While attending to the Fairdale Road situation, officers received alerts about a suspicious individual on Bradshaw Dr.

On arrival, they found another gunshot victim, also with non-critical injuries. One individual was detained but was later determined not to be a suspect.
