23-year-old man fatally shot in Queens, investigation ongoing

QUEENS, N.Y. — A 23-year-old man was shot and killed in East Elmhurst on Friday evening, police said.

Officers from the 115th Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress at approximately 7:20 p.m. at 33-37 96th Street. Upon arrival, they found the man suffering from gunshot wounds to the head, right forearm, and abdomen.

EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased, pending family notification.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to police.
