24-Year-Old Man Shot And Killed In D.C. Parking Garage

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A young man’s life was tragically cut short early Sunday morning in a shooting in Northwest Washington, DC. The deceased has been identified as Anwar Wingate, 24, of Forestville, Maryland.

The incident occurred in the 2100 block of 8th Street. Officers responded around 3:08 a.m. to reports of an unconscious man in a parking garage. Upon arrival, they discovered Wingate with a fatal gunshot wound.

The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in solving this homicide. They offer a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s).
