29-Year-Old Dies from Gunshot Wound to the Chest in Brooklyn

NYPD crime scene investigative unit.

Brooklyn, NY – Early Saturday morning, at approximately 2:43 AM, police responded to a 911 call reporting a male shot inside 303 Vernon Avenue at the NYHC Vernon Houses, within the confines of the 79 Precinct.

Officers arriving at the scene found a 29-year-old male inside the lobby of the location, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced deceased.

Currently, there are no arrests, and the investigation into the fatal shooting continues.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending proper notification of the family.
