WASHINGTON, D.C. – A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 42-year-old Tremaine Nicholson, who was killed in a Southeast D.C. residence in May.
The incident occurred on May 7 at approximately 2:01 p.m., when officers responded to the 3400 block of 25th Street, Southeast, following reports of a shooting. Inside the residence, police found Nicholson suffering from gunshot injuries. DC Fire and EMS pronounced him dead at the scene after finding no signs of life.
On December 23, members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 35-year-old Robert Carpenter, of Southeast, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court warrant. Carpenter has been charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed in connection with Nicholson’s death.
The Metropolitan Police Department credited the arrest to the collaborative work of detectives and regional law enforcement partners.
