37-year-old man shot multiple times dies, now city’s 70th homicide of 2021

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Police Department’s homicide victim has been identified as 37-year-old Taureen Tinsley. On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 3:59sm, Tinsley succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

This is the city’s 70th homicide in 2021.

On May 5, 2021, at approximately 6:22 pm, Columbus Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to 807 S. James Road on a report of a shooting. Multiple callers reported that there were three to six (3-6) gunshots fired. Officers located the victim who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body. The victim was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition.
