49 Year-Old Man Shot And Killed in Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 49 year-old man dead on Friday afternoon. The shooting took place on the 900 block of Valley Avenue in Southeast, D.C..

According to police, “At approximately 3:04 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, the members located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.”

 49-year-old Jeffrey Oxner of Southwest, D.C. was identified as the victim.
