5-Year-Old Girl Stabbed Multiple Times by Her Grandmother in North Jersey

PATERSON, NJ – 51-year-old Aurora Villacorta, was arrested in Paterson on Wednesday for allegedly stabbing her 5-year-old granddaughter multiple times.

She faces a range of charges including two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and endangering the welfare of a child, as confirmed by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.

The incident occurred at around 4:10 p.m., when police were called to a residence near the intersection of Carroll Street and Godwin Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the young girl suffering from multiple stab wounds. β€œAt about 4:10 p.m., police responded to the home in the area of Carroll Street and Godwin Avenue in Paterson, where the girl was found with multiple stab wounds,” said Prosecutor Valdes.

Villacorta was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody without further incident. The young victim was immediately provided medical attention and transported to a local hospital, although her current condition has not been released to the public.
