CUMBERLAND, MD—An Allegany County man concluded May by winning a $50,000 top prize in the Maryland Lottery’s Bonus Match 5 drawing.

The winner purchased a $6 quick-pick ticket for the drawing held on Wednesday. His ticket’s sixth line of numbers matched the winning sequence, securing the substantial sum.

This Western Maryland local is among 16 to win the Bonus Match 5 top prizes in Maryland this year. He acquired his winning ticket from Parkview Liquors on 82 Greene Street in Cumberland.

The store that sold the winning ticket, Parkview Liquors, will be rewarded with a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for their role in this lucky event.

The Bonus Match 5 lottery is drawn daily. Participants select five numbers from one to 39, with the addition of a Bonus Ball drawn from the remaining 34 numbers, offering extra chances to win. Tickets win by matching two to five of the numbers drawn, with larger prizes for matching more numbers or the Bonus Ball.
