55-Year-Old Man Stabbed in Chest, Killed in Astoria

ASTORIA, N.Y. — Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 55-year-old man early Monday in Queens, authorities said.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress at 28-18 31st Street around 2:21 a.m., within the boundaries of the 114th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers found a man with a stab wound to the chest, according to police.

Emergency Medical Services transported the man to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. Police have not yet released the man’s identity, pending family notification.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, the NYPD stated.

Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident.
