56-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot in Baltimore’s Northern District

BALTIMORE — A 56-year-old man was fatally shot on Friday evening in the 600 block of Springfield Avenue, according to the Baltimore Police Department. Officers from the Northern District responded to the scene at approximately 6:21 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Despite the rapid response, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

The Baltimore Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident. “Homicide detectives are actively seeking information,” the department said in a statement. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Baltimore Police Department at 410-396-2100.

No further details regarding the motive or suspects have been released at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
