6-year-old girl found unresponsive in Brooklyn home dies, police say

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – A 6-year-old girl was found unconscious and unresponsive in a Brooklyn residence on Friday afternoon and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, authorities said.

Police responded to a 911 call around 1:29 p.m. near Elton Street and Ridgewood Avenue in the 75th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered the child inside the location.

Emergency medical services transported the girl to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
