65-year-old man shoots and kills armed robber in NYC

NEW YORK, NY – Early Wednesday morning, a man fatally shot another individual who allegedly tried to rob him. The incident took place on 82nd Avenue in Kew Gardens at around 2 a.m.

The 65-year-old man, whose life was threatened by the 32-year-old armed with a sharp object, responded by pulling out a silver handgun. He shot the alleged robber as many as five times before dialing 911 to report the incident, surrendering the weapon to the responding officers.

The younger man, found deceased at the scene, had multiple prior arrests for robbery, burglary, drug possession, and other related charges.
