66-year-old wins $100k on scratch-off sold at Silver Spring liquor store

A Silver Spring resident bought a $10 Bankroll Buck$ instant ticket and won, well, instantly. When the 66-year-old scratched off his winning numbers and then matched lucky No. 8 on the ticket’s first row of numbers. Directly underneath it was a $100,000 top prize!

Bankroll Buck$, which launched on Dec. 28, still has three more unclaimed $100,000 top prizes, four unclaimed $50,000 second-tier prizes, 13 unclaimed $10,000 prizes, and tens of thousands of additional prizes ranging from $10 to $1,000.

When a Maryland Lottery player wins big, a Maryland Lottery retailer is also a winner. Hillendale Beer and Wine, located at 10117 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring, will receive a bonus of $1,000 from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off worth $100,000.

Lottery officials encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and put it in a safe location. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.
