DENTON, Md. — A Severna Park landscaper won a $100,000 top prize on a MONOPOLY X50 scratch-off ticket after making a late-night stop for coffee, Maryland Lottery officials announced Wednesday.

The winner purchased the $10 scratch-off at 7-Eleven on North 6th Street in Denton. After scratching the ticket in his car, he said he was in disbelief. “I stared at it for a minute or two until the shock wore off,” he told officials.

Still unsure, he returned to the store to scan the ticket, confirming the six-figure win. The MONOPOLY X50 game launched last month with 10 top prizes, and this marks the second to be claimed.

The 7-Eleven retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Eight top prizes of $100,000 remain in circulation, along with unclaimed second- and third-tier prizes.
