7-Eleven sells winning $100K scratch-off ticket to Maryland newlyweds

BALTIMORE, MD — A newly married couple is celebrating a major windfall after winning $100,000 on a MONOPOLY X50 scratch-off ticket.

The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 4315 Annapolis Road in Halethorpe. The wife, who has had previous success with Pick 5 and FAST PLAY, was inspired to try the game after seeing a Maryland Lottery MONOPOLY commercial on TV.

Using money from a prior win, she bought several tickets before heading home for lunch. When she scratched the ticket, she was shocked to see the $100,000 prize. After verifying the win on the Lottery app, she and her husband kept the news a secret until they could safely claim their prize.

The couple plans to buy a new car and put the remaining money into savings.

The 7-Eleven retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Seven more $100,000 top prizes remain in the MONOPOLY X50 game, along with additional prizes ranging from $10 to $50,000.
