71-Year-Old Killed in Three Car Crash in Oxon Hill

OXON HILL, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal three-vehicle collision that took place in Oxon Hill this past Friday afternoon. The deceased passenger involved in the tragic incident has been identified as 71-year-old Herminia Gamit from Suitland.

On Tuesday afternoon, at around 1:20 p.m., authorities responded to the collision site located at Oxon Hill Road and Clipper Way. Gamit was rushed to a nearby medical facility, where she was subsequently pronounced deceased. While two drivers and other passengers sustained injuries, these injuries are confirmed to not be life-threatening.

Initial reports indicate that the collision transpired in the eastbound lanes of Oxon Hill Road. Current investigations are still ongoing to determine the precise cause of the crash.
