71-Year-Old Man Attacked While Defending His Mom At Queens Mall

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is calling for public help in identifying an individual involved in an elderly assault.

The incident was reported on Wednesday, July 5, at around 3:00 pm, inside the Queens Center Mall.

The unidentified male requested an 88-year-old woman to vacate her seat in a communal area for him to sit down. When the woman’s son, a 71-year-old man, tried to intervene, the unidentified male punched and kicked him repeatedly. The assailant then fled on foot into a JC Penney store.

The 71-year-old victim sustained facial and head lacerations and was transported by EMS to Forest Hills Hospital.

The NYPD requests that anyone with any information related to this assault to get in touch as soon as possible.
