71-Year-Old Man Beaten During Home Invasion Critical, But Expected to Live

MONROEVILLE, PA – On Thursday, around 11:55 pm, Monroeville Police Department received a distress call regarding an assault at a residence on the 1200 block of Wall Avenue in Pitcairn.

First responders arrived to find a 71-year-old male with grave injuries.

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital. He remains in critical condition but is expected to recover. Subsequent investigation led to the involvement of the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit.

Detectives found that William Jackson, 42, had entered the elderly man’s home. When confronted, Jackson allegedly attacked the man, resulting in his injuries. Jackson was apprehended by officers at the scene.

Jackson now faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats. He is currently held at the Allegheny County Jail, awaiting his preliminary arraignment.
