72-Year-Old Stabbed Woman Who Threw Her Walker in Dumpster at Hollywood Motel

NEW CASTLE, DE – A 72-year-old woman has been charged after stabbing another woman Tuesday night at the Hollywood Hotel in New Castle after her walker was thrown in a dumpster.

That suspect has been identified as Gloria Williams, 72, of New Castle.

“The incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the Hollywood Motel located at 145 South Dupont Highway, New Castle,” the Delaware State Police said. “The investigation revealed a 57-year-old victim engaged in a verbal argument with Williams over a suspected theft. The argument escalated and eventually turned physical.”

According to a police report released Tuesday, after the subjects were separated, a short period later the victim attempted to throw William’s walker in the dumpster. During this action, Williams produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the upper extremity. The victim was treated at an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon troopers’ arrival Williams still had the knife in her hand. The knife was recovered, and Williams was taken into custody without incident.
