92-year-old woman victim of purse snatcher in Greenwich Village

NEW YORK, NY – A 92-year-old woman was robbed of her purse while walking along the Avenue of the Americas in Greenwich Village Thursday afternoon. According to police a man approached the woman from behind and forcibly took her purse in front of 442 Avenue of the Americas as 2:40 pm.

Detectives with the 6th Precinct have released a photo of the suspect caught on a nearby surveillance video camera.

After taking the purse, the suspect fled on foot. The woman was not seriously injured during the incident.
