94-year-old woman struck in Holiday City, driver cited

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ – A pedestrian was struck while crossing the road at the intersection of Bananier Drive and Jamaica Boulevard in Holiday City at Berkeley Friday afternoon. According to the Berkeley Township Police Department, the 94-year-old woman was crossing the road within the crosswalk.

John Williams, 55, was cited by police for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, improper turning, careless driving and having an unregistered vehicle.

The woman sustain a head injury and was knocked unconscious during the collision. She was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, where she is recovering and listed in stable condition.
