A New Jersey Wawa Shuts Down, Suprising Locals

Wawa convenience store.

Hillsborough residents were surprised to learn that the popular Wawa at 381 Triangle Road shut its doors for good on Monday, Oct. 2. The store has directed its patrons to visit its alternative sites located at 580 Union Ave., Bridgewater, and 1273 Route 206, Skillman.

While a business shutting down is not unusual in New Jersey, a Wawa shutting down is. Wawa is an insanely popular brand in the Garden State and most locations are usually packed full of people getting gas, grabbing a bite and picking up their coffee, at almost any time of the day.

Which is why a Wawa closing in New Jersey without a planned replacement is big news for a community.

There are over 250 Wawas across New Jersey and it’s always a shock to the system to see one close down.
