After two years, shelter dog Spice Girl finds forever home

FORKED RIVER, N.J. — After nearly two years at the Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelter, a dog named Spice Girl has finally found her forever home with shelter employee Wendy.

Spice Girl, known for her strong personality and affectionate nature, had been waiting for the right adopter. Wendy, who bonded with the dog while working at the shelter, stepped in to provide the loving home she needed.

Over time, Wendy helped Spice adjust to life outside the shelter, teaching her essential skills and building a lasting connection. The transition has been smooth, with Spice already experiencing milestones such as celebrating her first Christmas with her new family and visiting the beach for the first time.

Shelter staff shared the news on social media, celebrating the adoption as a perfect match between pet and owner. “Here’s to new beginnings, endless adventures, and all the tail wags in between,” they wrote.

Spice Girl’s adoption marks the end of a long wait and the beginning of a new chapter in a loving home.
