Alexandria Man Arrested for Attempted Abduction of Woman

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Alexandria Police Department has arrested a man following an attempted abduction reported on September 1, 2023.

Officers had responded to a call at approximately 11:09 p.m. in the 400 block of South Washington Street. A female victim reported that a man tried to abduct her.

Xavier Cooper, 34, a resident of the City of Alexandria, has been charged with abduction with intent to defile. Cooper was arrested on Friday, September 29, and is currently being held at the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center without bail.
