Alexandria, VA — Leslie Williams of Alexandria couldn’t believe his eyes when he checked the Virginia Lottery’s Cash 5 with EZ Match game numbers online. He had matched all five winning numbers in the June 18 drawing, netting him a jackpot of $1,063,690.
The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 2800 Beacon Hill Road in Alexandria. The winning numbers for the drawing were 1-20-24-26-35.
Cash 5 with EZ Match has a rolling jackpot that starts at a minimum of $100,000. The odds of matching all five numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 749,398.
The game also features the EZ Match option, where for an extra dollar, players receive five randomly generated numbers.
Each of these numbers is associated with a prize of up to $500. If any of these numbers match the ones on the player’s drawing ticket, they win the associated prize, even before the main drawing takes place.
Williams described his initial reaction as a “quiet scream” and is still in disbelief over his life-changing win.
