Allegheny County deputies bring holiday joy with ‘Shop With a Sheriff’ event

NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. — The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office brought smiles and holiday cheer to 120 children during its annual “Shop With a Sheriff” event at the Walmart in North Versailles, sponsored by Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus.

Deputies and officers from North Versailles joined the boys and girls in selecting toys and other items to brighten their holidays. The event also featured festive appearances from Santa Claus and the Grinch, adding to the excitement and joy.

“Big thanks to the staff at Walmart North Versailles, store manager Karen Kallam, and the Western Pennsylvania Greater Pittsburgh Toy Run,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Without their generosity, this event would not happen.”

The children also contributed their own holiday spirit by creating handmade thank-you cards for the deputies and volunteers, highlighting the community’s mutual appreciation.

This annual tradition continues to strengthen bonds between law enforcement and the local community, making the season brighter for families in need.
