Allegheny County Officer Injured, Suspect Arrested After Shooting

NORTH VERSAILLES, PA – An early morning shooting in North Versailles resulted in an officer being injured and the suspect, now in custody, facing multiple charges.

The Allegheny County Police Department reported the incident occurred just after 3:30 AM on Arlington Avenue.

Responding to a domestic disturbance, North Versailles Police encountered a man in an alley. The suspect fired at least one shot, injuring an officer. The injured officer is currently in stable condition after being treated at a hospital.

The suspect, identified as Fields, was apprehended hours later. He faces several charges, including four counts of criminal attempt homicide and aggravated assault on law enforcement officers.

The Allegheny County Police Department continues its investigation and has placed the involved officers on administrative leave. The department asks anyone with information to contact the Allegheny County Police Tipline.
