Alligator pulled found in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park lake

BROOKLYN, NJ – A four-foot-long alligator was pulled from Prospect Park Lake in Brooklyn early Sunday morning, according to District Council 37 officials.

The alligator was spotted in an area near where children frequently play. New York City park officials pulled the alligator from the frigid water. Rescuers said the alligator was spotted at around 8:30 am near Duck Island.

The gator was taken to Animal Care Centers of New York City after being safely removed from the water.

Nobody was injured during the incident. Officials do not know how the alligator ended up in the lake. Officials said the gator was in poor health when it was rescued due to the cold water.
