FISHERSVILLE, Va. — Authorities have canceled an Amber Alert issued earlier Thursday morning after three children, ages 10, 8, and 6, were located safe. The alert had been issued following their reported abduction from a bus stop at Bobby’s Way Apartment Complex in Fishersville at 7:45 a.m.

The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse, had launched the alert, stating that the children were believed to be in extreme danger. Officials indicated that the children may have been with their biological mother and traveling in a black, newer-model Nissan Sentra.

Sheriff Donald L. Smith confirmed that the children were found unharmed, and the alert was canceled shortly after their recovery. No further details about their recovery or the involvement of their mother have been released.
