Annapolis man arrested for handgun possession during warrant service

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A 47-year-old man was arrested Sunday night in Annapolis after police discovered a firearm during a routine patrol. At approximately 8:35 p.m. on September 29, 2024, officers identified a Toyota Corolla being driven by an individual with an open warrant in the area of Forest Drive and Solomons Island Road.

During a search of the vehicle, police found a black Walther PPK handgun and a partially loaded magazine in the trunk. The driver, Joshua Lee Rose Aiken, of Annapolis, is prohibited from possessing firearms and was taken into custody. He was served with his warrant and faces additional firearms charges.
