WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Northeast D.C. shooting stemming from an argument early Saturday morning has led to the arrest of 34-year-old Vann Allen by detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District.
The incident unfolded around 1:29 a.m. in the 1400 block of New York Avenue when Allen and the victim engaged in a heated dispute. During the confrontation, Allen reportedly shot the victim. He attempted to flee the scene but was swiftly apprehended by responding officers. A handgun, believed to be involved in the incident, was recovered at the scene.
The injured party received immediate medical attention and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The condition of the victim is unknown at this time.
Vann Allen, a resident of Southeast D.C., faces multiple charges, including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, and Possession of Unregistered Ammunition.
