Armed Robbery Suspects Used Axe to Break Into Philadelphia Grocery Store

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Two unidentified males entered a grocery store located on the 82xx block of W Venango Street in the early hours of Wednesday.

Reports indicate that one suspect used an axe to breach the security door while the second suspect pointed a firearm at an employee.

Once the door was compromised, the second suspect demanded money, while the first suspect collected cash from the register. The suspects made away with two cartons of cigarettes and $750 in cash.

They were last seen on foot heading south on 9th street. The incident resulted in no injuries.
