Armed trio robs man of $30K necklace in Washington Heights

MANHATTAN, N.Y. — Police are searching for three suspects who robbed a man at gunpoint in Washington Heights early Monday morning.

The incident occurred on January 6, 2025, around 2:57 a.m. at 1370 Saint Nicholas Avenue, authorities said.

A 29-year-old man was approached by three unidentified individuals, one of whom displayed a firearm before forcibly taking the victim’s necklace, valued at approximately $30,000.

The suspects fled the scene on foot, heading northbound on Saint Nicholas Avenue. The victim sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment.

Police described two of the suspects as males with light complexions and slim builds, while the third suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion and medium build.

This armed robbery highlights ongoing safety concerns in the Washington Heights community.
