Arnold Man Wins $50k Powerball Prize

ARNOLD, MD – An Arnold man, who regularly plays Powerball and Mega Millions, has won a $50,000 prize from a Powerball Quick Pick ticket. Previously, he had taken home smaller prizes, but this is his largest win.

He purchased the winning ticket at Giant Food Store #0358 at 573 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where he bought numbers for three Powerball drawings. On August 7, he matched four white balls and the Powerball, resulting in a third-tier $50,000 prize.

When he first discovered the win, he showed the ticket to his wife, who was so skeptical that she nearly convinced him it was a non-winning ticket. The Anne Arundel County resident triple-checked the ticket before accepting the win.

He plans to use the winnings to pay off debt. Having worked in electronics for 40 years, this unexpected windfall is a welcome bonus as he approaches retirement. In his leisure time, he enjoys boating.
