Arrest Made After Shots Fired in Southwest Boston

Boston, MA – Officers from District B-3 (Mattapan), around 9:18 PM on a Tuesday, apprehended Rircardo Marcelin, 36, of Hyde Park, due to firearm charges. The officers answered a shot spotter alert for four rounds at 33 Edgewater Drive. Upon arrival, they aided at a motor vehicle accident and encountered an individual drinking alcohol.

When the officers questioned the male regarding the sounds he had heard, he acted evasive. Noticing the male with a heavy crossbody bag, the officers tried to perform a frisk, causing a physical altercation. During this struggle, officers sensed what they believed to be a firearm inside the bag, leading to the suspect’s arrest and firearm retrieval.

The recovered firearm, identified as a loaded RG Revolver, contained four live rounds and one spent shell casing. Marcelin faces charges for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. He is set to appear in Dorchester District Court for arraignment.
