Arrest Made in Armed Carjacking of Rideshare Driver

WASHINGTON, DC – Detectives have made an arrest in an armed carjacking involving a knife that occurred on September 7 in the 1400 block of Okie Street, Northeast, according to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District.

At around 9:50 p.m., the victim, a rideshare driver, picked up the suspect. The suspect then brandished a knife and ordered the driver to exit the vehicle. The victim complied, and the suspect drove away.

Police successfully tracked the stolen vehicle and apprehended the suspect. Shemica Robinson, 38, of Northeast, DC, was arrested on the same day and charged with Armed Carjacking.
