HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has apprehended 65-year-old Gerald Declan Radford in connection to a deadly shooting at a dog park in February.

Radford is now facing a Second Degree Murder charge, with an additional enhancement for a hate crime.

Sheriff Chronister stated that the evidence clearly indicated Radford’s actions were motivated by hate, a sentiment he affirmed will not be tolerated in the community.

He expressed gratitude towards State Attorney Suzy Lopez for providing detectives the necessary time to conduct a comprehensive investigation. The sheriff also hoped that Radford’s arrest would bring some solace to the bereaved family of the deceased.
