Arrest Made in Downtown Pittsburgh Dollar General Robbery

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police’s Violent Crime Division has announced an arrest related to a strong-arm robbery that took place at the Dollar General Express located at 610 Wood Street on March 31, 2024. The incident involved an individual who, after making a purchase, assaulted a store clerk in an attempt to steal cash from the register.

Dimareja Edelen, a 24-year-old, has been taken into custody and faces charges of Robbery and Theft by Unlawful Taking. According to reports, Edelen paid for an item, then leaped over the counter and engaged in a physical altercation with the clerk. Fortunately, the employee was not injured during the confrontation.
