Arrest Made in Schenectady County CDTA bus Stabbing Incident

SCHENECTADY, NY – Today, the Schenectady County Street Crimes Task Force arrested Carlos A. Prince, 29, of Albany, in connection with a stabbing that occurred on March 15, 2023, on State Street in Schenectady. According to the police report, the victim and a friend were on a CDTA bus when Prince began verbally harassing them.

During the altercation, Prince produced a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times, causing injuries to the chest, abdominal areas, and head. The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment.

Prince has been charged with Attempt to Commit Murder in the 2nd Degree, a B felony. Evidence technicians from the Schenectady Police Department processed the scene, and Schenectady Police detectives conducted the investigation that led to Prince’s arrest.

The Schenectady County Street Crimes Task Force is responsible for investigating narcotics trafficking, violent crimes, and other major criminal activities in Schenectady County. The task force is made up of members of the Schenectady Police Department, the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Department, and the Rotterdam Police Department.

Prince was arraigned in Schenectady City Court and remanded to the Schenectady County Jail without bail.
