Assault and Burglary Suspect Arrested Following Manhunt, Crash

PITTSBURGH, PA – On Thursday, the Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested 43-year-old Andrew Nelson, who had been involved in a motor vehicle crash at Frankstown and Brushton Avenues on April 29th. After the accident, Nelson left the scene on foot and illegally entered a nearby residence, where he assaulted a 59-year-old victim who was initially listed in critical condition.

Nelson is charged with Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Criminal Attempt Burglary, Resisting Arrest, DUI, and numerous other violations. He is currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and the subsequent assault.
