Assault on Bedford Street Leads to Two Arrests

CUMBERLAND, MD – A disturbance in the 500 block of Bedford Street resulted in two arrests on Thursday. Cumberland Police Department officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:00 PM.

A male victim alleged that he was assaulted by Marquis King, 25, with multiple witnesses affirming King’s actions. Police observed the victim’s injuries, which matched the account.

A female identified as Hailey Marie Moon, 18, was also arrested at the scene for causing a disturbance and ignoring police instructions. King now faces charges including Assault-1st Degree, Assault-2nd Degree, and Disorderly Conduct.

He was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center with no bond. Moon was charged with Disorderly Conduct and later released on a criminal citation.
