Assault on Southbound 2 Train Leaves One Injured

NEW YORK, NY — A 61-year-old man fell victim to an unprovoked assault on a southbound “2” train on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at approximately 9:00 AM. The incident unfolded as the train neared the 149 Street – Grand Concourse subway station.

The assailant, an unidentified male, attacked the victim with pepper spray and a punch to the face before fleeing the scene. Emergency services transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln, where he remains in stable condition.

Police are seeking information on the suspect, who remains at large. The investigation is ongoing.
