Atlantic City Police Arrest Woman for Porch Package Theft

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department apprehended a woman for stealing packages from a porch. The incident occurred on December 4 at about 6:12 PM in the 1200 block of Indiana Avenue.

Officer La’Tray Butcher responded to a report of the theft and reviewed surveillance footage showing a woman driving up to the residence and taking the packages. A picture of the suspect and vehicle was circulated within the department.

On December 5, Officers James Eckert and Rashawn Cochran spotted the suspect and executed a motor vehicle stop. The driver, identified as Shatima Moore-Lampkin, 35, of Atlantic City, matched the suspect’s description and had existing warrants for her arrest. Opened packages in the rear seat, similar to those reported stolen, were observed in Moore-Lampkin’s vehicle. She was arrested without incident and charged with receiving stolen property.

Moore-Lampkin was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. It is important to note that charges are allegations, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
