Atlantic City police investigate crash that injured 5-year-old child

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — A 5-year-old child was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Friday evening, according to the Atlantic City Police Department.

The incident occurred around 5:48 p.m. on October 4, in the 2600 block of Fairmount Avenue. Police say the child was hit by the vehicle and sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The child was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for treatment. The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and was not injured, authorities said.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is assisting in the investigation. No further details about the circumstances of the crash have been released.
