Atlantic City Police investigating suspicious death

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Police in Atlantic City are investigating after a man was found dead on a bench in the 300 block of North New York Avenue.

At around 8:32 am on Friday, officers responded to a 911 call reporting an unconscious male lying on a concrete bench.

“After checking for vital signs, the officers immediately began CPR until the Atlantic City Fire Department and Emergency Medical personnel arrived on scene and took over CPR procedures,” the ACPD said. “The male, 60, of Atlantic City, was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene.”

At this time, police believe the incident is an apparent drug overdose.
