MAYS LANDING, NJ — Halim Fisher, a 25-year-old from Galloway, entered a guilty plea on Monday to multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a handgun, eluding police, and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
According to the terms of his plea agreement, Fisher is set to receive a six-year sentence in New Jersey State Prison, with a mandatory 42 months of parole ineligibility under the Graves Act.
The charges stem from an incident on December 21, 2022, where Fisher and a juvenile were apprehended distributing crack cocaine inside a convenience store on the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City. Upon arrest, police found a narcotics scale and car keys on Fisher, and crack cocaine on the juvenile.
A nearby parked Ford Fusion, which Fisher was seen operating on surveillance footage, contained a loaded handgun in the glove compartment, with Fisher’s DNA confirmed on the weapon.
Fisher also pled guilty to charges from two unrelated indictices, including another instance of eluding police in Mays Landing on June 2, 2023, and a separate cocaine distribution charge from November 23, 2022, also in Atlantic City.

Judge Donna M. Taylor has denied Fisher’s request for release pending sentencing, scheduled for October, ensuring he remains detained at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. The cases were investigated by the Atlantic City and Hamilton Twp. Police Departments and prosecuted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Unit.
