Attacker who killed 69-year-old man charged with assault

NEW YORKm, NY – A 33-year-old man who attacked and killed a 69-year-old has been charged by the Ne w York City Police Department with assault.

Police found a 69-year-old man unconscious outside 3212 Cruger Avenue in the Bronx on April 25.

Emergency medical services responded and transported the man, identified as Hector Burgos to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead on May 2.

Following an ongoing investigation, Burgos’ death has been deemed a homicide, and his attacker charged.

On Thursday, Kiam Chelcher, a 33-year-old male residing in the same building as Burgos was arrested by the 47th Precinct and charged with assault.
