Attempted Burglary at Marydel Firehouse Thwarted

MARYDEL, DE – Delaware State Police arrested 23-year-old Daniel Santangelo from Marydel, Delaware, in connection with an attempted burglary at the Marydel firehouse.

The incident occurred on December 29, 2023, around 11:54 p.m., when troopers were summoned to the firehouse at 110 Firehouse Lane.

Occupants of the firehouse reported hearing noises and observed a male fleeing from the scene.

Santangelo, recognized from a previous burglary at the same location, was spotted attempting to enter the building a second time but fled upon noticing an occupant.

He was apprehended on Wednesday, during a traffic stop and charged with Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree. Following arraignment, Santangelo was released on his own recognizance.
