Attempted Carjacking in Hanover Thwarted

HANOVER, MD – An attempted carjacking was reported in the 1300 block of Ashton Road in Hanover on Thursday.

The incident, which occurred at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, involved a 44-year-old female victim and an unidentified male suspect.

The victim, seated in her blue 2022 Toyota Camry, was approached by the suspect who arrived in a dark-colored sedan.

The suspect, attempting to block the victim’s escape, implied possession of a handgun and demanded the victim exit her vehicle. The victim managed to evade the situation unharmed by maneuvering her vehicle away from the scene. The suspect is described as a black male, thin build, wearing a beige hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.
